An unusual ANZAC Day Ceremony (Plus Free ANZAC Day Resources)

Creativity in the Classroom, Technology in the ClassroomComments are off

ANZAC Day is coming up and we like to pause to remember those who went before us to shape our nation and fight for the freedoms we enjoy.

What do you do to commemorate this special day in your classroom?  How do you engage your students and help them personally connect with this day?  Is it possible to mix a little pop culture with the tradition to create something connecting the past and the present in a meaningful way?

These creative Minecrafters certainly came up with a way!

Would this Remembrance Ceremony make some of your slouchy subjects sit up and pay attention?  I, for one, found this video surprisingly moving, and a little bit genius!

Then I found this amazing project idea to get the students learning about the battle of Gallipoli…and I bet they were all SUPER eager to get started on it and present their work at the end!!  Again…GENIUS!
